Album Notes & Community Reviews

Created initially as the soundtrack for a theatrical stage production, the Blur and Gorillaz frontman crafts an eccentric, highly English folk-opera. The project centers around the life of Elizabethan mathematician and occultist John Dee, blending Renaissance-era acoustic instrumentation and full choral arrangements with Albarn's signature melancholic vocal delivery. It stands as a fascinating, highly ambitious foray into archaic, pastoral storytelling.
