Now

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceived during the height of the global pandemic and the civil unrest of 2020, 'Now' was recorded outdoors in a Chicago garden over a remarkably brief period. Damon Locks directs an eclectic ensemble of musicians and vocalists, weaving spiritual jazz improvisation with heavy hip-hop drum loops and poignant sound collages. The project captures an urgent, communal energy, offering a profoundly uplifting response to systemic sociopolitical tension.
