Jesus Egg That Wept
by Danielle Dax
Operating fiercely outside the mainstream, Dax assembled her sophomore album largely in her own home studio, playing most of the esoteric instrumentation herself. The resulting music is a surreal, kaleidoscopic collage of tribal percussion, dissonant post-punk, and whimsical art-pop experimentation. It remains a fascinating, deeply idiosyncratic artifact of the 80s avant-garde underground.
