Recording entirely alone and learning instruments as she went, Danielle Dax’s debut solo album is a bizarre, deeply surreal masterpiece of DIY experimental pop. 'Pop-Eyes' blends clattering homemade percussion and disjointed post-punk guitars with her highly cryptic, eccentric vocal delivery, resulting in a dark, remarkably sparse, and incredibly mysterious avant-folk obscurity.
