Album Notes & Community Reviews
Dropping the 'Famile' moniker, Daniel Smith enlisted a massive choir of indie rock luminaries, including Sufjan Stevens and Deerhoof members, to realize this highly ambitious project. The music retains his distinctively eccentric, falsetto-driven avant-pop style, infused with joyful, idiosyncratic Christian lyricism. It is a dense, theatrical, and overwhelmingly optimistic listening experience.
