Released during a hiatus for Oingo Boingo, this project is effectively a solo album in name only, featuring the full band alongside co-production by Steve Bartek. The record leans heavily into synthetic, dance-oriented new wave while retaining Elfman's frantic, idiosyncratic vocal style and dark humor. It marks his final major pop music endeavor before fully transitioning into a highly successful career as a cinematic composer.
