Expanding upon the frantic velocity of their legendary 'Darkness Descends', the Los Angeles thrash outfit introduced significantly longer, more complex song structures on their third release. Featuring the astonishingly dense, hyper-speed drum work of Gene Hoglan and the debut of vocalist Ron Rinehart, the album is a grueling, technically demanding assault. It represents the band reaching their peak of progressive extremity.
