Album Notes & Community Reviews

Paying direct homage to the legendary jazz trumpeter Booker Little, Dave Douglas delivers a stunningly complex, deeply emotive tribute album. 'In Our Lifetime' features a highly inventive sextet navigating arrangements that perfectly balance intricately composed, post-bop structuralism with deeply passionate, free-flowing improvisation. The record firmly established Douglas's reputation as a highly cerebral, historically reverent bandleader within the modern jazz landscape.
