Hastily recorded to capitalize on the colossal commercial success of 'Let's Dance', 'Tonight' finds David Bowie leaning heavily into smooth, highly synthesized pop-rock and tropical pop-reggae. The album is largely comprised of collaborative covers and slick, radio-friendly R&B arrangements that lack the conceptual rigor of his classic output.
