Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as his debut proper solo studio album under his own name, 'Hyacinth' represents a somber, highly cinematic milestone in David Eugene Edwards' legendary career. Stripping away the muscular alternative-rock weight of his band Wovenhand, the record focuses on a minimal, acoustic-electronic framework of neofolk and post-industrial darkwave. Co-produced alongside Ben Chisholm, the compositions pair his weeping, intricate acoustic picking and cryptic vocal deliveries with cold, hovering synthesizer drones.
