Taking a brief respite from the legendary post-punk outfit Pere Ubu, the eccentric frontman explores a slightly more pastoral, though undeniably strange, brand of avant-garde pop. 'More Places Forever' relies on surreal, meandering song structures heavily featuring Richard Thompson's folk-inflected guitar work and Lindsay Cooper's bassoon. Thomas's wildly theatrical, warbling vocal delivery remains entirely intact, anchoring this playful, eclectic solo endeavor.
