The Rule of Thirds
by Death in June
Shedding almost all percussion and industrial elements present in his earlier discography, Douglas P. delivers one of the most purely acoustic, minimalist albums of his long-running, highly controversial neofolk project. The stark instrumentation relies almost exclusively on bleak acoustic guitar strumming and spoken-word poetry, exploring themes of aging, disillusionment, and European decay. It represents an exceptionally fragile, bare-bones era for the foundational dark-folk act.
