Co-produced by Cate Le Bon in the vast desert environment of Marfa, Texas, the Atlanta indie rock institution pivots into ornate, synthesizer-driven chamber pop. Frontman Bradford Cox tackles heavy existential dread, societal collapse, and the erasure of history through uncharacteristically bright, almost harpsichord-heavy arrangements. It stands as a fascinatingly grim, highly melodic exploration of late-capitalist paranoia.
