Trouble in Dreams
by Destroyer
The eighth studio album by Dan Bejar strips away some of the heavy synthesizer usage of his prior work, returning to a dense, piano-driven indie rock approach. Featuring expansive instrumentation and his signature, hyper-literate David Bowie-esque vocal delivery, the record is heavily poetic and cryptically dramatic. It served as a final, masterful crystallization of his traditional rock sound before his major pivot toward smooth jazz and disco.
