Album Notes & Community Reviews

This album solidified Devendra Banhart as the figurehead of the early 2000s freak-folk movement. 'Rejoicing in the Hands' is a collection of fragile, idiosyncratic folk songs that sound like they were unearthed from a past century. It balances gentle whimsy with profound, earthy intimacy.
