Album Notes & Community Reviews
Heavily reliant on the newly introduced Fairlight CMI synthesizer, the band's sixth album abandons much of their organic instrumentation in favor of stiff, digital sequencing. The record features a controversial synth-pop cover of Jimi Hendrix's 'Are You Experienced?', underscoring their ongoing project of musical de-evolution. The critical and commercial failure of the release led to the band being dropped by Warner Bros., concluding their classic era.
