Conceived as the score to an imagined film, the eleven interconnected compositions were recorded mainly in Gothenburg with further sessions in Istanbul. The band joins Youssef's oud and voice to H眉sn眉 艦enlendirici's clarinet, Nils Petter Molv忙r's trumpet and Eivind Aarset's guitar, and the album sold over one hundred thousand copies.
