Functioning as the second installment of her devastating 'Masque of the Red Death' trilogy, this avant-garde vocal work confronts the horrors of the AIDS epidemic. Galás utilizes highly manipulated, multi-octave screams and dark ambient synthesizers to construct a terrifying, apocalyptic elegy inspired by the 19th-century poetry of Baudelaire and Corbière.
