Album Notes & Community Reviews

Culled from the same explosive 1997 Total Music Meeting in Berlin that produced its predecessor, this second volume continues the ensemble's ferocious tribute to Albert Ayler. The quartet leans heavily into prolonged, chaotic improvisations, driven by the thunderous rhythm section of William Parker and Hamid Drake. Peter Br枚tzmann's saxophone work cuts through with violent, spiritual intensity, cementing the group's legendary status in free jazz circles.
