Marking a shift toward a more polished and expansive sound, 'Every Brilliant Eye' was recorded largely in Los Angeles under the supervision of producer Jeff Eyrich. The expansive arrangements elevated the group's underlying jangle-pop sensibilities onto a grander stage.
