Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following frontman Zachary Cole Smith's highly publicized struggles with addiction and subsequent stint in rehab, the Brooklyn outfit returns with their darkest and heaviest record to date. Eschewing the jangly dream-pop of their early work, the album fully embraces the crushing volume and detuned guitars of 1990s shoegaze and slowcore. It is a profoundly honest, deeply atmospheric exploration of recovery, guilt, and emotional survival.
