'Through the Morning, Through the Night' was the second album by Gene Clark and Doug Dillard, extending their blend of country songwriting, bluegrass instrumentation, and rock-era production. The record appeared as country rock was becoming more visible in Los Angeles circles. Its restrained tone and vocal harmonies later helped strengthen Clark's post-Byrds critical reputation.
