Album Notes & Community Reviews

Taking symphonic extreme metal to unprecedented levels of theatrical grandeur, Dimmu Borgir enlisted the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra to realize their ambitious vision. 'Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia' features a highly polished, modern production style that perfectly balances the sweeping classical strings with aggressive, precision-driven black metal blast beats. The inclusion of clean vocals from bassist ICS Vortex added a striking melodic counterpoint to Shagrath's demonic snarls.
