After Hours With Miss D

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Captured in an intimate, late-night setting with a superb jazz ensemble featuring Clark Terry, 'After Hours With Miss D' emphasizes Dinah Washington's profound blues roots and razor-sharp phrasing. Stripped of the pop orchestration typical of her crossover hits, she delivers intensely swinging and emotive interpretations of standards. The record remains one of the finest pure jazz vocal albums of the decade.
