Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring lush string arrangements by Don Costa, 'September in the Rain' captures Dinah Washington fully embracing her role as a premier interpreter of pop standards. While moving away from her gritty R&B roots, her deeply blues-inflected phrasing injects remarkable emotional gravity into the highly polished orchestrations.
