Album Notes & Community Reviews

Riding the massive pop crossover success of her previous hits, the 'Queen of the Blues' applies her distinctively piercing, crystalline diction to a set of sweeping, string-laden standards. The arrangements by Belford Hendricks soften her gritty R&B edges, successfully repositioning her as a sophisticated, mature interpreter for the mainstream adult market.
