Macabre

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Shedding much of the pop accessibility found on their debut, the iconic visual kei act steers violently toward dark, complex alternative rock. 'Macabre' utilizes jarring structural shifts, brutal metal riffing, and Kyo's increasingly varied, often terrifying vocal gymnastics. Thematically focused on Russian folklore and severe psychological distress, it initiated their long transition toward extreme avant-garde metal.
