Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded at Piety Street Recording in New Orleans and produced by Craig Street, 'Funeral for a Friend' restages the traditional jazz funeral, opening with the dirge 'Just a Closer Walk with Thee' before the procession turns uptempo. The album is dedicated to Anthony 'Tuba Fats' Lacen, the brass-band mainstay who died weeks after the sessions were mixed.
