Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following his immigration to the United States, the Jamaican-born, British-established trumpeter leads a sparse, piano-less quartet featuring Walter Bishop Jr. on the rarely used rhythm instrument. His fat, fiery tone and unorthodox phrasing thrive in the open harmonic space, yielding a uniquely compelling entry in the label's storied hard bop catalog.
