Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Meeting with the King' is the debut full-length album by Durban producer DJ Lag, a central figure in the gqom scene, featuring guest appearances from Babes Wodumo, Mampintsha and amapiano producer Mr JazziQ. On several tracks he lowered gqom's customary tempo from 127 to 124 BPM, stretching the style's broken rhythms, while the lead single 'Ikhehla' pairs him with Babes Wodumo.
