Album Notes & Community Reviews
Featuring the striking acoustic interplay of bassist Richard Davis and drummer Joe Chambers, 'Metamorphosis' highlights Don Friedman's transition into the avant-garde. The pianist maneuvers through tense, atmospheric improvisations, pushing the boundaries of post-bop into surreal, mysteriously textured harmonic territories.
