Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Italian traditional metal stalwarts deliver a massive, lumbering conceptual opus dedicated entirely to the Viking invasion of England. Eschewing speed for crushing, slow-moving guitar riffs and towering, operatic clean vocals, the album successfully cultivates an atmosphere of profound majesty and inevitable tragedy. It remains a towering, definitive achievement within the epic doom metal subgenre.
