Album Notes & Community Reviews

Standing out as a rare female artist who composed her own hit material, this debut blends deep Southern gospel feeling with sharp, Northern pop structures. The vocal performances are rich and authoritative, supported by excellent, blues-inflected studio instrumentation. The record served as a critical early influence on the developing British soul and beat scenes.
