Continuing her mission to establish the harp as a legitimate lead instrument in modern jazz, Dorothy Ashby delivers a fluid, incredibly rhythmic set on 'Soft Winds'. Functioning effectively like a piano within the rhythm section, Ashby expertly weaves intricate bebop lines while maintaining a distinctly elegant, cool jazz atmosphere.
