Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Allen Toussaint and featuring backing by The Meters, this album is a definitive slice of New Orleans funk. It seamlessly blends Dr. John's swampy, voodoo-infused persona with tightly arranged, highly danceable R&B grooves. Decades later, the album's title famously inspired the name of the popular Tennessee music festival.
