Album Notes & Community Reviews

Shedding the deeply mysterious, voodoo-psychedelia of his Night Tripper persona, Dr. John delivered a phenomenally joyful, wildly energetic tribute to his hometown's musical heritage. 'Dr. John's Gumbo' is a wonderfully playful, remarkably warm celebration of classic New Orleans R&B and zydeco, radiating incredibly happy, fiercely melodic piano-rock swagger.
