The Power Within

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Crucially introducing new vocalist Marc Hudson, the British quintet noticeably reins in the sprawling, ten-minute hyper-speed epics that defined their commercial breakthrough. While maintaining their signature blistering, dual-guitar virtuosity, the songwriting is significantly tighter, more focused, and prominently features acoustic interludes and traditional verse-chorus structures. The album successfully proved the band could survive a major lineup change while maturing their over-the-top sound.
