Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the final record to feature guitarist and songwriter Jason Isbell, the band moves towards a slightly more polished, straightforward rock sound compared to their sprawling narrative concept albums. The three-guitar attack remains prominent, supporting deeply personal songwriting focused on addiction, relationship decay, and Southern fatalism. It is a transitional but highly celebrated entry in their extensive catalog.
