Have 'Twangy' Guitar Will Travel

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Introducing a massive, heavily echoed guitar tone built on low-register riffs, this immensely successful instrumental debut forged a completely distinct sonic template for early rock music. Recorded in a customized studio utilizing a massive water tank for reverberation, tracks like 'Rebel-'Rouser' mixed a tough rockabilly attitude with infectious pop hooks and wailing saxophone accents. The signature, reverb-drenched twang laid critical groundwork for both surf rock and the cinematic spaghetti-western scores of the following decade.
