Album Notes & Community Reviews

For their sophomore effort, the retro-soul revivalists drastically expand their sound from raw basement recordings to lush, orchestral, 1970s-inspired R&B. The album heavily features the falsetto of drummer Aaron Frazer intertwining with Durand Jones's gritty lead vocals, addressing romantic longing alongside politically conscious reflections on modern America. It firmly established the group as masters of immaculately arranged vintage soul.
