Together

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Surprise-released as the Numero Group's first non-archival record, 'Together' finds Duster refining their established slowcore and space-rock aesthetic with a greater sense of immediacy and higher fidelity. The album's sound is a dense miasma of submerged, fuzzed-out guitars, over-driven rhythms, and hazy synths, described as an exploration of 'interplanetary goth'. Throughout, the songwriting from the duo of Clay Parton and Dove Amber navigates themes of melancholy, the passage of time, and a restless absurdity, creating a work that is both a logical continuation of their influential 90s output and a crisply produced, song-oriented update.
