Gone

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Dwight Yoakam heavily expands his signature honky-tonk sound on 'Gone', incorporating prominent horn sections and lush string arrangements entirely absent from his previous work. Despite the significantly slicker, more ambitious pop-oriented production, the album successfully retains the sharp songwriting and distinct Bakersfield twang that defined his career. It stands as a highly adventurous, brilliantly executed stylistic pivot within 90s mainstream country.
