Album Notes & Community Reviews
Leading his ensemble Sound & Fury, the Finnish drummer and composer weaves a cinematic tapestry of dissonance, stark rhythms, and icy sonic textures. 'Lumi' masterfully utilizes silence and spatial awareness, breaking away from conventional jazz phrasing into ominous, darkly romantic territories. The recording is frequently highlighted as a profound triumph of the Scandinavian avant-garde jazz movement.
