The seventh studio album by Mark Oliver Everett was recorded entirely analog in a basement studio, intentionally capturing a raw, unpolished garage-rock aesthetic. Conceptually driven by themes of primal desire and werewolf mythology, the record alternates between fuzzy, distorted rock stompers and incredibly tender, vulnerable acoustic ballads. The release marked a successful, grittier return to form following an extended hiatus.
