Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Brazilian multi-instrumentalist makes his ECM debut with an evocative set of acoustic duets featuring percussionist Nan谩 Vasconcelos. The recording beautifully merges complex jazz improvisation and classical virtuosity with the indigenous rhythmic traditions and vast natural atmospheres of the Amazon rainforest. It established Gismonti as a vital, idiosyncratic voice within the label's globally expanding roster.
