The Take Off and Landing of Everything

The Take Off and Landing of Everything cover art

Written largely while frontman Guy Garvey was spending six months living in New York City, the record heavily navigates feelings of displacement, aging, and the dissolution of a long-term relationship. The band strips back some of their stadium-ready bombast for subtle, deeply melancholic orchestral arrangements and incredibly intimate, poetic lyricism. It became their very first album to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart.
