A Trick of the Light

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The acclaimed guitarist steps away from purely solo fingerpicking to orchestrate a dense, highly improvisational clash between traditional Americana and chaotic jazz fusion. Operating with a full backing band, the instrumental arrangements are distinctly raw and rhythmic, occasionally dissolving into dissonant avant-garde jazz structures. It is a warm, challenging hybrid record that aggressively pushes folk-adjacent music into vast post-rock territories.
