Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded when she was only 17 years old, 'Poema de amor' is one of the earliest documents of Elis Regina before she became the undisputed queen of Brazilian popular music. The album finds her navigating the transitional period between traditional Samba-can莽茫o and the emerging Bossa Nova movement. While her signature explosive emotional power is still developing here, her innate vocal control is undeniable.
