Appalachia

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Appalachia', Emily Scott Robinson's narrative songwriting delves into older Appalachian and Anglo-American folk traditions, moving beyond contemporary Americana with a clear, evocative vocal performance. Produced by Josh Kaufman, the album features a spacious and reverent sound that complements its thematic exploration of resilience, ancestral endurance, and hope amidst hardship. The songs balance detailed storytelling, addressing topics of loss and love, with a musical framework built on acoustic guitar, strings, and organ.
