Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded shortly before the creation of his infamous Slim Shady alter-ego, this debut presents a completely different iteration of the legendary Detroit MC. Heavily influenced by artists like Nas and AZ, the vocal delivery focuses intensely on complex, multi-syllabic rhyme schemes over smooth, jazz-inflected production. Despite its initial commercial failure, it serves as a fascinating historical document of his raw, developing technical prowess.
